Is it time for Memory Care for my loved one?

We have put together a list of questions to help determine if memory care at either KindCare Assisted Living or another community might be right for you and/or your loved one. If you answer “yes” to four or more of these questions, it may be time to make a move.

Has your loved one fallen behind on paying bills? Is there old mail piling up at their home?

Does your Mom or Dad often times misplace items? Do they blame others for taking their things?

Is your loved one interacting appropriately in social situations? Do they follow the conversation and respond appropriately?

Have Mom and Dad been unable to schedule and remember medical appointments? Are they unable to follow through or explain what the doctor recommended when they do make appointments?

Does your loved one forget about recent visits or phone calls with either your or friends and family?

Has your loved one lost interest in activities they used to enjoy? Do they make excuses as to why they cannot participate with friends or engage in church events, or social events they used to enjoy?

Has your Mom or Dad been forgetting to take their medications?

Do you notice house work and yard work not getting done?

Is your loved one withdrawn? Do they seem depressed?

Do you find your loved on repeating themselves, especially if this is a new behavior?

Are you worried about your Mom or Dad cooking on the stove or using appliances for fear of safety?

Does one parent often answer for the other, whom you are worried about their memory?

Is there expired food in the refrigerator?
